Art therapy uses creative processes such as drawing, painting, collage, and clay to explore feelings, resolve conflicts, and build self-awareness without relying on words.

Meet Emily

Hi! I’m Emily, a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist based in Rochester, NY. I work with adults who are externally functional but internally exhausted. Are you feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, numb, anxious, and that "what’s-the-point?” feeling?

In our work, creativity becomes a way to listen to your inner voice, make meaning, and find a gentler way to be with yourself.

My specialties include burnout, existential dread, overwhelm, identity development, late-diagnosis neurodiversity, and creative blocks.

Interested in taking the next step towards inner knowing?

Ways to work with me

  • Individual art therapy sessions offer a supportive space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through both conversation and creative expression. You do not need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy. The focus is not on making something "good" or polished, but on using the creative process as a way to explore emotions, reduce overwhelm, and better understand your inner experience.

In sessions, we may use drawing, painting, collage, or other simple art materials alongside talk therapy. Sometimes words come easily, and sometimes images help express what feels hard to name. I’m here to help if you are feeling burnt out, anxious, emotionally overloaded, disconnected, or stuck.

  • Group art therapy offers a supportive space to connect, create, and reflect with others in a therapeutic setting. No art experience is needed. Through guided prompts, creative expression, and shared process, participants can explore emotions, feel less alone, and experience creativity as a tool for healing and self-understanding.

  • Workplace wellness sessions led by an art therapist offer a creative, supportive way to help teams reduce stress, reconnect, and care for their emotional well-being. Through guided art-based experiences, participants can slow down, reflect, and build tools for resilience, self-awareness, and nervous system support. No art experience required.

  • Professional consultation with an art therapist offers a thoughtful space for clinicians, helping professionals, and organizations seeking insight, support, and creative approaches to their work. Consultations can provide guidance around clinical perspectives, art-based interventions, burnout support, and ways to bring creativity and reflection into professional settings.

What People Are Saying

“Emily is incredible. She's multifaceted in her approach and is able to meet me on whatever level I show up at, whatever I need. She constantly empowers and enables me to find a way through when I feel lost. I can't recommend her enough.”

Individual Therapy Client

“Emily is so great! She's the first art therapist I've had, and does such a wonderful job encouraging me to just create with no pressure during our sessions. She has such valuable perspectives in the queer community that I was really seeking when looking for a new therapist. She is well-informed with the state of the world, is educated in the therapy space, and I really admire her creative direction! I always leave sessions having learned something new, whether it's a therapy technique, a relevant book or self-help piece of media, a quote from someone I didn't know about, or even just resources (events/websites/community spaces/etc.) that I can explore outside of our sessions. I absolutely love working with her!”
